In the 2024 – 25 financial year we’re proud to have invested £38,000 of surplus funds to support local initiatives within our practices and donated £76,000 to 22 different Wandsworth charities.
This aligns with our function as a social enterprise working at the heart of local health and care services.
Below, we highlight four organisations who have put the money to good use for their service users and communities.
The range and breadth of charities supported meant that all sections of the population were represented including young people, families, older people and people experiencing homelessness. Supported activities included community kitchens, foodbanks and advice services.

Home-Start Wandsworth (HSW)
HSW, an organisation that works with families to create environments where young children can thrive were awarded £4,000 in March 2025, to support their weekly Connect@Home lunch club in Earlsfield.
The donation enabled them to provide 240 places over a 4-month period, benefitting around seven families per week.
This weekly session gives vulnerable and struggling families the opportunity to meet and connect in a safe and supportive environment. Everyone who attends receives a hot drink, a hot healthy freshly cooked lunch and cake. Attendees are able to sit and eat together, talking, sharing and supporting each other.
This session is also used to provide 1-1 support, advice and signposting from staff and volunteers.

A service user, said:
“It is a day of the week that no matter how isolated I’ve been throughout the week I’m not alone there. I make friends, share difficulties and am part of a community which supports each other.
“Home start brought hope to my life, it made me feel I was welcome and belonged as the people I met were patient with me and my daughter. I had lost interest in life, but these activities made me look forward to the next day.”
Jenny Cooper, Managing Director, HSW, said:
“Thank you for your generous donation. It has enabled us to support many families in need through our lunch club, providing a warm space, a nourishing meal, friendship and support.
We are delighted to have the recognition of the Wandsworth GP Federation for the work we do. It is beneficial in supporting our families and also a valuable reference when talking to others about our work.”
Wandsworth Foodbank
Wandsworth Foodbank, an organisation that provides a warm welcome, emergency food and practical support to local people facing hardship, were awarded £14,000.
They put this donation towards their Referrals and Engagement project, providing person-centred care to everyone referred to the food bank in hardship, between April and June 2025.

Dan Frith, Wandsworth Foodbank Manager, said:
“We want to thank Wandsworth GP Federation for this donation.
Care, support and signposting has been provided to over 600 local households, including some direct referrals into our Foodbank Advice Project. Through our signposting actions, including helping people to access crisis support from the council and charitable grants and support, an estimated total financial gain of over £100,000 has been achieved.
People come to our food bank at some of the most difficult times in their lives. It can take a lot of courage to ask for help, and so what we offer is more than emergency food parcels, vital as those are.
Thanks to donations like this, we have been able to offer people a safe space and a friendly face, a welcome cup of tea, a listening ear, kindness, encouragement, emotional support, so people do not feel alone.”

Tooting Community Kitchen (TCK) were awarded £3000 which they used towards funding their Wednesday soup, where guests come to have a home-made meal, play games, learn songs and watch movies.
